Mama, today would have been your birthday. We celebrate your life each day; because we carry you in our hearts and are always mindful of the sacrifices you made for us. You will continue to occupy that special place that is only reserved for a mother like you. You were so full of life and love. You taught us to dance and laugh. You teased and helped us to laugh at ourselves.
You taught us to read at all times!write. You were one of the pioneers of adult education. You went to Holy Child Secondary at the age of 13! The oldest in form one but you excel among your classmates.

I don't know how you found the time to be all the roles that you embodied: teacher, nurse, playmate, cook, saleswoman, a child care provider, business manager, spiritual leader saying the rosary and praying with us, counsellor, housekeeper, a mother, and wife. You were excellent at each one. We thank God for blessing us so graciously with you, our mother. Continue to rest from your labor of love!

Grief is a personal thing...no one grieves in the same way, there is no rules for grief and no one has the right to tell you when to stop feeling the way you feel. Take as long as you need and if folk dont like it then let them jog on!

 Hello Angie,
I know you will miss the old lady. Our mothers, compared to our fathers, had gone through thick and thin to make us what we are today and we should be forever grateful to them no matter what and you did your part. God will not leave you nor forsake you. The bible even mentions it categorically that we should honour our fathers and mothers so that it shall be well with us. She is definitely in a better place and as Christians, we know this is so TRUE. Our Lord said, in "My Father’s house are many mansions;if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" (John 14:2-3). Use these words to comfort yourself in remembrance of her. The Lord will come back and receive her into glory - there will be no more pain, crying or sorrow. You will not miss her again. You will see her forever. Keep up the faith and keep believing and trusting. Because you honoured her when she was alive, God will also honour you. That is why the verse came with a blessing that '...so that it shall be well with you'.
Love, Edna.
