God Answers the Prayers of the Righteous

by Joyce Meyer.

...The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
— James 5:16

When people struggle in their prayer lives, they often think it is because they are unholy and unrighteous so they try to behave better, hoping that then their prayers will be answered.

The truth is that if we are born again, we are righteous. We may not do everything right; but we are 100 percent righteous through Christ. Second Corinthians 5:21 tells us He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (NKJV).

There is a difference between righteousness and “right” behavior. Righteousness describes our standing—our position or condition before God—because of the blood of Jesus. We cannot make ourselves righteous; only the blood of Jesus makes us righteous, as if we had never sinned at all. God views us as righteous even though we still make mistakes. Because He sees us as righteous, we have a God-given right to pray and expect God to hear and answer us.

Always do the best you can to behave properly and do it because you love God, but remember that He hears and answers your prayers because He is good, not because you are.

God’s word for you today: You have been made righteous by the grace of God.

Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that comes from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. Amen!!Colossians 2:8-10

Don’t start speaking defeat over your life. In spite of how you feel, every day you need to declare, “Everything about me is getting better and better.” -Joel Osteen.

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.” Psalms 107:1-3 (NKJV) INTRODUCTION Every child of God needs to take a close look at the “who, what, where, when and why” of sharing their witness of salvation with everyone they meet. WHO SHOULD “SAY SO”? Those whom He has Redeemed! God does not want, nor will He accept, the artificial praise of the unbelieving world. An interesting example of this if found in Acts 16:16-19. “Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation." And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And he came out that very hour. But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities.” Who are the redeemed? Only the blood-bought child of God. In confirmation of this: 1. We have the witness of Paul: Paul, in exhorting the elders of the church at Ephesus, said: “…shepherd the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood.” Acts 20:28 2. We have the witness of Peter: “…knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold…but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” I Peter 1:18-19 (NKJV) 3. We have the witness of John: “You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” Rev. 5:9 WHAT ARE THE REDEEMED TO SAY? Tell of the goodness, mercy and grace of God; that He saved you and that He will save anyone who comes to Him through Christ. The Gadarene demoniac is a great example of the saving grace and power of our Lord Jesus. When Jesus cast out the demons from the man he wanted to become a disciple of Christ but Jesus had another ministry in mind for this redeemed individual. The record of this is found in Mark 5:18-19. “And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, ‘Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you." Mark 5:18-19 (NKJV) WHERE SHOULD THE REDEEMED SAY IT? “And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them.” Mark 16:15, 20 WHEN SHOULD IT BE SAID? “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalms 34:1 (NKJV) “For this reason we also thank God without ceasing.”
